exclude short dendrites on image edges

Dendrites which are longer but just out of the image we want to be able to exclude for analysis (so that we can differentiate between a entire branch and a branch which is only displayed half). One idea was to create a virtual frame at the borders of one image (e.g. 5 pixel or sth) and exclude all the segments which touch this frame. But could be done otherwise as well.
