When a system has been offline for over 14 days, it is removed from the amd netgroup. If this a workstation and the users switches it on, it boots normally. However the login attempts of the users fails (no home). There is no clear indication to the users what happened and what he is supposed to do.
It would be nice, if a affected workstation would show a nice message on the console and not start the display manager. But how could a workstation discover if it has lost trust without creating to much additionally dependencies on other systems and the network and misinterpreting several other possible reasons to fail (e.g. by just doing a test mount) ?
