lightdm: Turning monitor back on no login screen is seen

After turning off the monitor, and turning it back on on the next day, lightdm 1.30.0 (and before) often do not show the login screen, and lightdm needs to be restarted. Switching to virtual console TTY1 and so on works, but switching back to TTY7 still nothing is shown.
