I did this, because I tested something with newer autotools which required help2man. Usually a source package requires a specific version of autotools (if you want to regenerate the configure) , so there is no real "right" version of autotools to be installed on the system. In fact, you'd require a set of autotools variants. So there is no motivation to globally install latest autotools.
But my add-help2man branch was still hanging around, so why not use it?
