Setting of display manager not effective on next reboot

I've changed the display manager to lightdm on hypnotoad, but it came up with gdm (which was not working) after reboot. On the next reboot, it came up with lighdm. Sane issue for switching back.

Maybe a race beween startup-tags.service and ConditionPathExist in whateverdm.service ?
