Feature request: Image Gallery (carousel or grid)

For documenting events like the summer party or something more official, an image gallery (displayed as a grid or a carousel-type slide show) could replace the existing picture galleries in imgdb.molgen.mpg.de.

I think we need this feature … I still have pictures of Martin Vingron's 60th birthday and the Day of Science and don't know how to show them.

Maybe something like this, it even has a lightbox: https://pypi.org/project/wagtail-simple-gallery/#description

But I'd like to put this inside an article, not as a standalone website, not sure if the plugin can do this (I found no working examples).
