Right now, the calendar is accessible only from the internal network, but Peter Arndt wrote a script that remedies the issue and even handles user authentification etc.

I guess the best place where to put the new function would be directly below the calendar itself. Maybe we can replace the existing button and call it "Subscribe", which then forwards to the script's front-end with further information.

#43 is installed on life server. Links goes to a server which uses https://github.molgen.mpg.de/molgen/ics-subscription-server.
Please test.

I'd love to test it, but I'm missing a link ?!

"Subscribe" or "Abbonieren" at the bottom of https://intranet.molgen.mpg.de/en/events/

Works like a charm for me :)

Apart from the technical aspect, which seems to work for me without any problems whatsoever – do you think there is a way to style the "landing page" in order to make it look less out-of-place? At the moment, it is a bit jarring to get thrown into a text-only environment. Maybe it would suffice to copy some CSS styling over from the main page? There, we could also place a link to a "How to subscribe in your favorite client software" (which I would have to make).

Yes, because the link could as well be generated from inside the intranet server and use the username from the login. So the intranet server itself could present you with the public ICS-Link. However, I wanted to get this going ASAP and just putting the link was the easiest thing to do.
