We use only nfs version 4 and don't need the nfs v2/v3 NLM services rpc.statd and sm-notify. These are started from nfs-utils either as a dependency of the nfs-server service (for nfs server) or from mount.nfs (for a nfs client). Mask both services to reduce logspam.
