The generated description, e.g." GO Terms (top 5): regulation of transcription, DNA-templated, DNA binding, regulation of nucleobase-containing compound metabolic process, regulation of biosynthetic process, regulation of nucleic acid-templated transcription" is good enough.

For brevity, maybe top 3 terms.

Once the corresponding tables have been populated, these details will be included in the tooltips for the gene names

I think the popup adequately solves this, cramming more info in the table will just make it cluttered.

Maybe to reconsider...
It's fine when you sit in front of the screen and can mouse over the items...
but
The information is not available when you need to communicate it via text, as a Table (which you do in the manuscript).

Good point, it certainly would be good to include these in the exported data. Though there is a technical limitation to consider. Pulling these in for potentially thousands of gene families in the table is a time consuming DB operation.

With the current implementation we are pretty close to requests timing out, so there is little more that can be added.

I'll have a look how much the runtime increases by adding in the GO summaries, can't make any promises though.

Ok. Doing this just for the intersection should be sufficient.
