mmRmeta

R Package for the Analysis of Multimodal Genes

Description

mmRmeta is a framework to analyze multi-omics data such as RNA-seq and DNA methylation data with the focus on bimodal genes. The workflow of mmRmeta consists of three major steps (outlined in Figure 2). First, the data needs to be acquired and preprocessed. This is followed by the identification of bimodally expressed genes. The package mmRmeta uses mclust for model-based clustering to obtain parameter estimates and the cluster assignment of the samples. The third step is the multi-omics analysis to find relations between bimodally expressed genes and the phenotypes of the patient population via modeling regularized logistic regressions and conducting survival analyses with Cox proportional hazard models.
