serial2midi

A converter for midi data received trough a serial input. Specifically written for the special midi->serial boxes at the CBS MPI that does not filter the received messages.

It currently ignores midi channels and just collects the data from all channels so it may be advised to only connect one midi device per serial port.

Using it as a library

Just create an instance of Serial2Midi and call the update function to receive new values. That's it.

You will see a virtual midi device in other appear on your system.

Using it standalone

go to the folder containing the library (i.e. the folder containing the "serial2midi" folder)
call python3 -m serial2midi (you may have to use python3.6 instead of python3 on certain systems)
