Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard

By default, a printer application does no longer automatically quit after submitting a print job. Instead, it remains in the Dock after a print.

To restore the “Tiger-behavior”: If you click and hold (or control-click) the printer icon, a contextual menu appears. Select “Auto Quit” from this menu, and from now on the printer application will automatically quit after completion of a print job.
